Sunday School

This September we are transforming our approach to Sunday School.  As a church we have launched three strategic priorities - the first of which is intentionally developing our children and teens.

We are transforming our approach to Sunday School!     As a church we have launched three strategic priorities – the first of which is intentionally developing our children and teens.

Starting Sunday, September 24 we will no longer be holding our Sunday School for children and teens before the service.     Instead, the primary teaching time for children up to grade six will be part way through our worship service.  The teaching time for our teens (junior and senior) will be in the afternoon, immediately following our worship service (and a bag lunch).     It is our hope that by making this change Sunday School will become much more accessible to the children and the teens.

Rather than having one teacher per class we will go onto three week teacher rotations for the primary class and three/four week teacher rotations for the teen classes.     This way the children/teens will be exposed to many more teaching styles and will learn different ways to approach their personal faith.     We are also hoping that by having the classes taught on three week rotations, there will be more volunteers willing to take on a portion of the teaching.

Lunch for the teens and their teachers will be a bagged lunch with the exception of once a month where we will hot a meal.

How can you help?

  • Sign up for one of the teaching rotations

  • Sign up to help with one of the monthly lunches

  • Pray, Pray, Pray (fr the children/teens and for the teachers, current and new)
