Wiped Clean

Anyone who has had any computer experience will know the frightening first time experience of having to reformat the hard drive. For those not so familiar with what I’m talking about, it means that every file is lost. Everything. The computer gets set back to the way it was the day you bought it and there’s nothing there other than the original factory settings.

Sometimes it’s kind of neat because all the stuff on there that you don’t want is also gone. You can start over and, having some prior experience, can now set the computer up without making all the same mistakes again.

Sounds a lot like our relationship with God, which is we reflect in our relationships with other people often times. We often look back with a sense of guilt and regret. We see things we wish we had done differently, or not done at all.

I’ve got some really great news! God is willing to wipe the hard-drive clean! He has taken all the old garbage and mistakes of our life’s searching and browsing and offers a second chance! Those of us who are followers of Jesus Christ call it SALVATION!

And guess what? It’s yours for the asking. This is what Good Friday and Easter Sunday means. Jesus died on a cross, taking our penalty of death because of misbehaviour and opened the way for us to be in right relationship with God again. The Bible states it this way in a book called Romans, chapter 10, verses 9 and 10 say, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved."

The decision today will count for eternity. Make it! As soon as you do, find someone else who is a follower of Jesus and share the good news! As a matter of fact, make sure you tell someone who is not a follower of Jesus Christ! Not to mention we’d like to know too!
